Mechanical / Electrical | Industrial Intern (Data Center Site Operations Intern)

Role Overview
STT GDC Philippines is looking for high-caliber Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering students for a structured immersion program. As a DCSO Intern, you will gain hands-on exposure to 24x7 mission-critical infrastructure, focusing on the mechanical systems and operational workflows that keep the digital world online.
This role is a talent pipeline; we evaluate interns against Specialist-level competencies for potential full-time hiring upon graduation.
Key Responsibilities
During your internship, you will bridge the gap between classroom theory and large-scale industrial application:
- Infrastructure Shadowing (ME Focus): Observe and assist in monitoring complex M&E systems, including Chillers, CRACs, UPS, and Switchgears.
- Operational Excellence (IE Focus): Participate in hourly site walkthroughs to learn hazard identification and equipment abnormality detection.
- Systems Monitoring: Observe and log data from Building Management Systems (BMS) for cooling and power efficiency.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate operational logs and assist in updating Method Statements (MS) and Risk Assessments (RA).
- Audit & Compliance: Support the team in preparing for international audits such as ISO 27001, 9001, and TIA-942.
- Vendor Coordination: Observe the management of third-party contractors during preventive and reactive maintenance.
Signature Projects
You will contribute to high-impact projects designed to optimize our facility:
- Infrastructure Audit: Conduct a full audit of M&E asset tagging to ensure 100% accuracy in documentation.
- Reporting Enhancement: Develop improved shift report formats to better track Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and cooling efficiency.
- New Equipment Onboarding: Support the commissioning (IST) of new critical equipment for campus expansion.
