Role Overview
The Graphic Design & Multimedia Intern will lead the creative direction of the UGLY Project’s visual identity and digital presence. This role focuses on branding, storytelling, and content creation to communicate our sustainability mission—reducing food waste through innovative and responsible consumption.
The intern will work closely with the Project Management and Marketing teams to translate ideas into compelling visual content across web, social media, and promotional materials.
Key Responsibilities
1. Brand Identity & Visual Development
- Develop and refine visual branding for the UGLY Project (logo concepts, typography, color systems, visual guidelines).
- Create cohesive design assets aligned with sustainability messaging.
- Maintain brand consistency across all platforms.
2. Content Creation (Graphic & Video)
- Design social media graphics, posters, website banners, and promotional materials.
- Produce short-form videos (Reels, TikTok-style, explainer videos) highlighting:
- Food waste problems
- Behind-the-scenes production
- Sustainability impact
- Product launches
- Edit video content with captions, transitions, and brand-aligned aesthetics.
3. Website & E-Commerce Visual Assets
- Design UI mockups and visual layouts for product pages.
- Create product photography concepts and digital mockups.
- Improve overall user experience through creative visual storytelling.
4. Campaign & Marketing Support
- Conceptualize launch campaigns for surplus/“imperfect” products.
- Design promotional materials for sustainability awareness drives.
- Collaborate on creative storytelling that positions waste reduction as aspirational and responsible.
5. Creative Innovation
- Propose new content ideas and creative experiments.
- Research trends in digital branding, sustainability marketing, and Gen Z visual culture.
- Help shape the artistic direction of the brand as it evolves.
