Exoasia Innovation Hub is looking for Dev Crew Interns to help develop and improve Hermes, currently a Proof of Concept working towards productizing it. Hermes is a web-based platform that integrates a coordinated stack of specialist AI agents to improve productivity of financial advisors and support financial literacy of its users. This position is fully-remote.
Web Developer (Frontend, Backend, or Full-Stack)
Responsibilities
- Build and improve features across the Hermes web app, on the frontend, backend, or both, depending on your track.
- Frontend: develop UI components and pages in React/TypeScript, wire them up to backend APIs, and improve the overall user experience of the chat, dashboard, and forms.
- Backend: build and maintain REST API endpoints in FastAPI/Python, work with MongoDB data models, and support integration of the platform's AI agent tools.
- Fix bugs, write tests, and help refactor code as Hermes moves from proof-of-concept toward a production-ready platform.
- Collaborate with QA to reproduce, triage, and resolve reported issues.
- Regularly report updates to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related program (or equivalent self-taught experience with a portfolio to show for it).
- For Frontend: working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and React fundamentals (components, hooks, state).
- For Backend: working knowledge of Python, with exposure to FastAPI or another web framework.
- Basic understanding of REST APIs and how a frontend and backend communicate.
- Comfortable using Git/GitHub for version control.
- Self-directed, communicative, and reliable in a fully-remote setting.
Nice to Have
- Experience with MongoDB or another NoSQL database.
- Experience with Tailwind CSS or similar component-based styling.
- Familiarity with Docker and cloud deployment (e.g. Vercel).
- Curiosity about AI/LLM-powered applications and multi-agent systems.
- Prior exposure to fintech, insurtech, or financial-planning products.
