About the role
The Electrical Engineering OJT / Intern provides assistance to the Engineering and Project teams in the preparation, coordination, documentation, and monitoring of electrical projects. The position is intended to provide practical exposure to electrical design, estimation, installation, testing, project documentation, and site operations under the supervision of qualified personnel.
Key responsibilities
- Assist engineers in reviewing electrical plans, Single-Line Diagrams (SLD), load schedules, panel schedules, and technical drawings.
- Assist in the preparation and checking of material take-offs, quantity estimates, Material Requests (MR), and other project requirements.
- Help verify electrical equipment and materials such as circuit breakers, panelboards, cables, wires, busbars, switches, transformers, and other electrical components against approved plans and specifications.
- Assist in preparing and updating shop drawings, as-built drawings, technical documents, reports, and project records.
- Participate in site inspections and monitoring of electrical installation activities under the supervision of the assigned Project Engineer or authorized personnel.
- Assist in checking whether electrical installations conform to approved drawings, project specifications, applicable electrical standards, and safety requirements.
- Help monitor project materials, deliveries, equipment, tools, and other items assigned to the project.
- Assist in coordinating project requirements with the Engineering, Purchasing, Warehouse, Production/Fabrication, and Project teams.
- Assist in documenting project progress through daily reports, photographs, inspection records, testing records, and other required documentation.
- Observe and assist, when authorized and properly supervised, in electrical testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.
About you
- Currently enrolled in BS Electrical Engineering or a related electrical/technical course.
- Must be qualified to undergo OJT/internship as required by the school or university.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, electrical drawings, and electrical components.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, and other engineering software is an advantage.
- Willing to perform both office-based and project-site assignments.
- Willing to learn electrical design, estimation, project coordination, and site implementation.
- Detail-oriented, responsible, organized, and able to follow instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Safety-conscious and willing to comply with Company and project-site safety requirements.
