Internship Role: Project Management Intern (UGLY Project – Sustainability Initiative)
Role Overview:
The Project Management Intern will support the planning, execution, and monitoring of the UGLY Project — a sustainability-driven initiative focused on reducing food waste through digital innovation. The intern will work closely with the founder and cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of technical and operational milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Coordination
- Assist in defining project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
- Break down major goals into actionable tasks and weekly sprints.
- Coordinate between developers, designers, operations, and marketing teams.
- Timeline & Task Management
- Track project progress using project management tools (e.g., Trello, Notion, ClickUp, or similar).
- Ensure deadlines are met and proactively flag risks or bottlenecks.
- Conduct short weekly check-ins and progress summaries.
- Process Documentation
- Document workflows for inventory tracking, surplus management, and e-commerce operations.
- Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sustainability integration.
- Maintain organized project files and reporting systems.
- Data & Performance Monitoring
- Track KPIs such as waste reduced, surplus sold, order turnaround time, and system efficiency.
- Assist in building simple dashboards or reports to measure impact.
- Support data-driven decision-making.
- Risk & Quality Management
- Identify operational or technical risks early.
- Ensure outputs meet agreed quality standards.
- Propose improvements to optimize workflow and sustainability impact.
- Stakeholder Communication
- Prepare concise weekly reports for management.
- Present project updates and milestone achievements.
- Facilitate communication across teams.
